Bed Sheets

“The bed sheet paintings came out of a desire to make something at scale that could fit in a carry on travel bag. "American Horse" was started on a ranch outside of Sonoma, worked on further in Minnesota, and finally finished in my NYC studio. These bedsheets form a connection to the Plains Indians’ Winter Counts of generations ago that were traveled on horseback in a parfleche bag on the Great Plains….."
